The Nazarene church is a little “c” church in Christ’s worldwide and ageless big “C” Church. The Nazarene denomination began officially in 1908, and was borne out of the holiness revivals held throughout our country in the nineteenth century. Nazarenes today still emphasize the lifestyle of holiness. That’s another word that has meant many things to many people through the years, but what is meant by it? To be holy is simply to be set apart for something. Your toothbrush is set apart for you. Simple enough. Applied to people, this means that this person is set apart for God, and not for something else. We were created to worship God. To love and be loved by God. The holy life is a life lived out of this love. There are many things we can seek in this life. We can search for money, power, recognition, or really, practically anything. A life lived separated to God is a life that is lived seeking God above all things. A life in which we realize that our greatest need, and our greatest love, is God.
In one God--The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
That man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil and that continually.
That the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
That the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and refenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
That believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
That our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
